The first thing that comes to my mind was: How Apple-ized! And the simple design: How Google-d! And someone else agrees with me. The visual interface would most likely appeal to some, but I’m not sure how efficient the search mechanism itself.

It’s the the time of giving, well, in my case, it’s receiving…

A new laptop!!! HP Pavilion DV9202TX to be exact. It’s a 17″ desktop replacement laptop and I really like it alot.
My previous 15.4″ ACER laptop has gone kaput and I’ve been using my company’s laptop for the past few months, until this friend of mine decided to get me a new laptop for Christmas! Woohooo….!
It’s enormous on my desk… I didn’t really realize it when I saw it at the Simex 2007 fair. Oh well…

How’s the initial feel? It’s good! Though I had some hiccup at first due to the upgrade of RAM from 2G to 4G, that problem was solved by flashing the BIOS. I really like the big screen. Though the weight may seem a bit intimidating, but I suppose that’s ok…
The amazing specs truly put this piece above the rest of the current popular laptops. And I really like some of new functions which have been incorporated. The interfaces are good, both in placement and the number of them. The one thing missing is the thunbprint recognition function, but I’m alright with that since I don’t believe in using that anyway…

All in all, I think I have a great powerful machine. Do google out its specs and you’ll know what I mean… LOL

It costs about SGD2,300, but I offer to chip in SGD1,000 since it’s pretty expensive. Thanks K!

I got to know through Screenshots that some khalwat videos have surfaced in youtube. I searched a bit and I came across this.

Two things.

Youtube has become a pretty powerful tool since video recording has become increasingly common.

I don’t really care much about the scandalous stuff (yup, don’t care about the politician’s version either). But the one on bully brings back vague recollection of the video on a Kuching girl being bullied. It really makes me wonder if school bullies are becoming a worrying problem in Malaysia.

I mean, back when I was in school dockey years ago, I’ve heard of bully cases, but I would consider such situation pretty much under controlled. Now, videos of bullies are surfacing occasionally. I believe for every video that surfaces, many other cases remained unknown except to the students involved.

Such thoughts worry me. Is Malaysia breeding hooligans? I don’t expect a zero-case situation, but when the idea that bully cases are increasing starts cropping on my mind, I simply feel rather uncomfortable with the disciplines imposed in school, and the direction of Malaysian education.

Oh well… I suppose politicians are busy having fun with each other rather than caring national big issues…

P2P technology has given us the taste of file sharing globally and now, it has been extended to TV program broadcast all over the world through the Web.

My initial reaction was: Hey! Who needs local cable service anymore.

That’s still true, but unless you have alot of people watching the same channel, and more channels of all sorts of variety are available, this service still has a long way to go.  The quality is a bit low compared to the standard I would expect for a online TV broadcast, and the annoying thing is that the broadcasting will stop to due buffering every now and then.  I suppose I need better Internet connection, or more people participating…

In Singapore, the people here are not as fortunate to get ‘free’ soccer matches during the World Cup 2006.  Channel 5, the local TV channel (such as RTM of Malaysia) will only telecast 3 matches.  THAT”S JUST SO ANNOYING FRUSTRATING AND SAD…  At least in Malaysia, people without Astro will get to watch more than 10 matches…  I was told that TVU will be the next best thing to catch World Cup matches besides hanging around kopitiams…

In any case, I think this a great effort that will certainly path the way to Internet TV.

I was blog-surfing when I chance upon this entry. Mouseover-ing the mentioned blog, it all seems too familar and I realized that I’ve bookmarked her blog before.

It sucks when you are in the situation when you had somewhat wanted to know some people better, but only to lose them when it’s all too late. I bookmarked her blog for some particular reasons preciously, which I don’t remember now. I believe I had the intention to contact her somehow, perhaps just simply by leaving comments on her blog…

I’ve been shooting out some questions recently to mainly bloggers with regard to the word ’sexy’. And of course, how can I not ask 5xmom about it? So I made some obvious mistakes by asking 5xmom questions that well… may not seem right, but I’m simply happy that she answered them anyway. And here’s her reply:

1) Besides having moustache, guys wear tight jeans and short shorts as well. Sexy?
Ewwsss, fren you missed the timeline. Those are the 70s when I was 10 years old la. My era is Bruce Springsteen. That is the ‘white t-shirt, blue, dirty, torn jeans’. The casual look.
Only Boy George, the bapok, wear tights. (Think Karma-Karmeleon, puke!)

2) Who’s your guy idol(s) before you got married? Why?
Married or not, no difference one la. It is liking a singer/actor, not that we are going to screw them or something.

Can I be allowed toy boys? It is very ‘heng’ (the trend) for women in their 40s (like Demi Moore) to keep toy-boys mah.

Kehkehkeh, seriously, no lah. I got better things to do than go spend time idolising people. I’d rather work to get people to idolise me. Not idolise as in idolise but rather to do something meaningful and useful for the community. Make a difference. So I don’t have the time for fluff stuffs like soap-operas and other siew-nai-nai’s pastimes.

4) Shoulder pads are a big thing. Big shoulder = Sexy?
No!!!! Shoulder pads were NOT meant to be sexy. In the 80s and 90s, women were getting more prominent in the workplace, holding high positions. So, jackets (or blazers) were must haves as part of corporate dressing. The shoulder pads are to make the jackets ’stand’.

5) Big hairdo? Was that sexy too?
What big hairdo? Aiyoh….where got big hairdo? You confused with the 50s liao. I wasn’t even born wei. I know that it is very ‘in’ to have the male look. Called androgenous. Thinks Anita Mui (in the stupid song, Why, why tell me why). So hair was cut very short and spiked up with gel. For the feminine look, yeah, Princess Diana’s hair was in.

6) In those days, what makes you feel sexy?
What those days? Aiyoh….male and female have been mating since Adam and Eve, when God created man and then, make woman out of the man’s rib. It is the natural instinct to hunt for sex to procreate. So, what makes people sexy is a pretty broad subject. You think those big, fat, thick lips, tobacco hair, black African or long tongue, Maori women sexy anot? No mah. But those men in African and Maoris find them a turn on mah. See?

What makes me feel sexy?

Choy…cannot tell one la. But I am not shy to admit that I am always in touch with my inner self, keeping myself happy. Ever note how some young girls tend to put up their photos online and then quote something like, “I look cacat, I got bad hair day, I just woke up, my eyes puffy etc?” Well, women, girls and females in general musn’t put themselves down like that. Always think that you are at your best because you are God’s gift to mankind. Hahaha.

7) What makes you feel sexy now?
Also cannot tell la. I have enough stalkers already. Don’t need more. But remember - Women are like wine…..

8) Wearing lingerie, is that sexy? Do you have a whole collection of them?
Wuah, you my stalker or what? Cannot tell la. But seriously la, the only time when married women started owning big collection of lingerie means bad news. She either :

1) got it as gifts from the husband because he had been out playing and want the wife to looks like his mistress;
2) got it with her own money because she is trying to shag the pool cleaner (ala Desperate Housewives)

*smacks, smacks, smacks* You watched too much soap operas.

But, no, I don’t wear batik nightdress, put my hair in curlers and wear bedak sejuk to sleep. Whoever have that notion - I curse them to mati pucuk before they even achieve puberty. And that goes right down to their descendants. Abuden, they will not have any descendants what? Muahahaha. Satin nightdress in the price range of RM100 and above are good investments. Heh!
So… you wear nothing to sleep?

9) An incident when you feel LEAST sexy…
I am not built to provide sex only, wei. Anyway, I think all women, make that females, should feel sexy, irrespective. Not age, not weight, not looks. Feel good inside, and she will look good outside regardless.
Sexy is not always =sex wei…. or izit?

10) What’s the biggest misconception guys have on woman about the idea of “sexy”? What about the biggest misconception guys have on themselves about being “sexy”?
Guys on women- They want Barbie Doll shape.
Guys on guys- They think that their life and soul depends on that 5,6,7,8 or whatever inches meatloaf. They missed the cue that a woman expects more than rod. Women want HEART!

11) Girls nowadays dressed up too sexy at too early an age… Agree?

In those days, girls were not pressured to become stick thin, Sizes weren’t that prominent because there were less media exposure. What can you get from TV1 and TV2 hah? No internet, only Galaxie magazine.

12) “5xmom - Humour, Life, Lies, Sex and more blog” - where’s the ‘Sex’ part?
HAHAHA, glad you ask. Sex as in sex education. Muahahaha. Too bad…many people got conned into coming to my site. It is a trade secret in attracting Google search engine.

BIOGRAPHY - 5xmom own 6 websites, two support group forums for parents and happens to be a blogger only. Take away the ‘blogger’, 5xmom is still the administrator and owner of Malaysia biggest and most informative parenting website which is a non-profit group for parents. Plus a lot of other stuffs she does for the community, out of love, not money.

It’s been raining… and announcing the death of Ipso Facto and buangmasa. I’m not sure of their reasons, but all the best to you both.

So so many times, when I flip thru coffee table books, model photospreads in magazines, or clothing catalogues, I’m pretty impressed with how beautiful some photos turn out.

Though my cup of tea is mainly journalistic photography, I’m equally amazed at some of the effects of studio photography, especially when the human form is featured. Some are strong and architectural. Others may be bizarre. Some may be soulful while some may simply be playful and whimsical. All in all, most studio photos are simply this: sexy.

Every now and then, I come across photography sites that are pretty exciting. And I came across this local fella’s photo-blog. His name is Kevin Han, whom I think has been showing pretty promising talent. I decided to email him up, and also one of his models featured here.

Before being photographed by Kevin, Joyce had known Kevin since they were kids. Joyce was already staying at Hilton KL where it’s naturally a perfect place for Kevin to work his magic with his camera.

Kevin said, “I would shoot on-location as I don’t have a permanent studio, bringing lights and such to where the model is. So it’s usually a major issue if it’s not convenient to use the model’s house/apartment, usually because there’re other people around.â€?

Joyce felt that working with Kevin is pretty alright. “His gf gives alot of suggestions as well.â€? Kevin added “Celine tags along for all of my portraiture sessions, mainly to help with poses and ideas. I think girls also pay more attention to detail, which is useful for any sort of studio work. Nowadays I insist to myself that I only do a shoot if Celine can come along. She’s good company too. Oh, Celine also photographs behind the scenes. I think other photographers would find such pictures useful. I know I do.â€?

According to Kevin, he’d not thought of specific ideas before photographing someone. “I usually only start thinking once we arrive at the place. Spontaneous.� When asked if Joyce looks sexy in those photos, Kevin remarked, “Sexy, glamorous, yeah sure.� And Joyce agrees as well.

Asked if she prefer her solo session or being photographed with her boyfriend, Adam, Joyce has this to say. â€?I think it’s easier to pose with someone, cos then there’s interaction going on which is what the photographer wants. And the posing comes more naturally cos you can lean on the person, and there’s body language going on.â€?

And when asked about the photos of her being in the bathtub…
â€?I was wearing clothes in the bathtub obviously. We had ideas to put other things in the bathtub but was lacking time so just chucked me in there and tried a few shots which i don’t really like anyway…â€?
This is what Kevin has to say. “The bathtub session could have been better. But I’m not sure how. A mirrored wall on the opposite side, low white ceiling and use of a softbox overdiffused lighting, so the pics turned out looking somewhat…. normal. The bubbles did look a little “dry” and um… brittle, after a while. I thought that looked a little awkward…â€?

I was a tat curious when i asked this in irc:

It has been 2 months since Jimmy Ang hatched out the “Sexy Blogger� T-shirt project. In that period, he has changed the design of the T-Shirt, making it sexier. And he puts up a 128mb smarthumb as well for the best poser wearing the “Sexy Blogger� T-shirt… creative.

I manage to catch up with Jimmy on the project. As enterprise as he is, the requests and orders have been pretty slow. Jimmy said, “I was expecting it to be slow as time picks up but I hoped that the initial response would be good. However, judging from the way things are going now, I doubt that it will ever meet my expected minimum of 50 orders. I’m still stuck at 35 orders now.â€?

Having the interest in designing templates, Jimmy said that the project is worth the effort no matter what the outcome is. “I love the design and if perfected, I hope it’d meet my expectation and the customers’ expectations.â€?

Jimmy also mentioned that the project will most probably end by either middle or end of this month.
